When we got married, I pretty much planned it all. Every last detail except for one – the tuxedoes. He was adamant that he wanted to be involved in selecting all the details for the attire for himself and his groomsmen. The style. The vest. The color. All of it. And I was happy he took ownership of it.
When the big day of November 5, 2006 finally arrived, we of course got ready separately. Adam then did his entire round of photos on his own and with his family and groomsmen before the big bridal reveal. And I will never forget that moment he saw me for the first time. He looked at me with amazement in his eye and said I looked more beautiful than he had ever seen. I looked at him with a bit of wonder in my eye as well and just said…you’re wearing the wrong tie.
Somehow he managed to put on the groomsman taupe tie despite very specifically picking out a white one for himself. And I love that our photographer captured that realization slowly take place on my face in the photo series below.
Happy anniversary to my #Shmadum. 11 years later you still fill my life with wonder…and I couldn’t possibly love you more ❤
